How to Play FAQ
The game requires 8 “characters”. Select 8 outgoing guests of your choice to play these characters. Everyone else will be guests at the party soon to become investigators.
Our games have 4 rounds. During each round, the 8 characters will be provided with a character card. These character cards have essential information that will instruct the 8 characters on what to do and say. The goal is to gather enough information to piece together the murder. No one knows more than the other meaning everyone has an equal chance of playing the game. Even the character playing the murderer doesn’t know they officially killed someone till the end of the game.
In round one, we get to learn more about our characters. Who they are, what they do, and who they’re connected to.
In round two, we establish motives. This round we learn why someone would want to kill.
In round three, our murder takes place and it is up to everyone to solve whodunit.
Lastly in round four, allow everyone a chance to determine their final guesses before the 8 characters take turns accusing one another of the crime until eventually the murderer is revealed.

Here at Host A Murder Mystery Party, we're not just about solving the crime – we're about creating an unforgettable experience that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
So why do we use 8 characters instead of just one for each guest? Well, hold onto your magnifying glass, because we're about to spill the tea on why our approach is the absolute bee's knees!
First off, picture this: you're at a swanky soirée, rubbing elbows with the crème de la crème of society. But wait, there's a twist! Each of our guests isn't just a passive observer – they're a key player in the unfolding drama. With 8 unique characters to embody, you'll be slipping into different roles faster than you can say "whodunit?"
But fear not, dear sleuths! Even if you're not playing a character, you're still in for a thrill. As the party kicks into high gear, our non-character guests transform into crack investigators faster than you can say "elementary, my dear Watson!" Suddenly, everyone's a suspect, and the fun is just getting started.
Now, let's talk strategy. We've done our homework, and trust us when we say, 8 is the magic number. While some other companies might cram in too many characters, leaving you drowning in a sea of confusion, we keep it sleek and streamlined. With just the right amount of intrigue and a dash of challenge, we've struck the perfect balance between simplicity and complexity.
With our games, we believe in creating an immersive and engaging experience for all attendees. While some may assume that every guest needs a character role, we've found that having a mix of characters and non-character guests adds depth and excitement to the event, while also eliminating the confusion often found in our competitors' games.
Our approach ensures that every participant plays an essential role in unraveling the mystery, without the clutter of irrelevant information that can arise from too many characters with generic storylines. By assigning specific roles to some guests and leaving others as free-roaming investigators, we create a dynamic environment where everyone can contribute to solving the case.
Non-character guests have the freedom to interact with each character, asking pertinent questions and gathering valuable clues. This streamlined approach not only eliminates the confusion of irrelevant information but also allows for more meaningful interactions and a smoother gameplay experience. They immerse themselves in the party atmosphere, listening to conversations and observing body language to uncover clues. They collaborate with other guests to share insights and theories, all while maintaining discretion. By actively participating in the investigation, they enhance the atmosphere of suspense and excitement, making for an unforgettable evening of mystery and intrigue.
